Energy giant Centrica has enhanced its childcare voucher scheme and taken steps to promote its voluntary benefits plan.
The company has added a range of discounts to its childcare voucher scheme, which is provided by Accor Services. These include discounts on clothes, groceries and toys, as well as discounted theme-park tickets and special deals on holidays.
More than 1,000 employees already take advantage of the vouchers and Craig Truter, reward programme manager, hopes more will sign up. "This is already an attractive scheme for parents and now, with the discounted extras, we hope it will be even more attractive," he said.
Centrica is also taking steps to promote its voluntary benefits website, Perkz.com, which is available to all employees. To raise awareness of the site, it is running roadshows in seven of the company's offices, with an opportunity for employees to win prizes such as iPod Shuffles and a cruise for two.
The company has also held a prize draw to promote its bikes-for-work scheme, offering employees the chance to win one of three £100 vouchers.
The initiatives helped to encourage a further 203 employees to sign up for the bike scheme, boosting the total number taking part to 681 over the three registration periods it has run.
