BHSF Young Achiever is Best in Birmingham

The team at BHSF, the Birmingham-based health and wellbeing business, was celebrating after its Marketing Development Manager was presented with the Young Achiever of the Year Award from the Birmingham Insurance Institute.

Marketing Development Manager for BHSF, Chris Snookes beat off stiff competition from insurance professionals across the region to take the top accolade which was announced at the Birmingham Insurance Institute Annual Dinner.

Chris was presented with the coveted Young Achiever of the Year shield and a cheque for £250 in recognition of his excellence in service delivery, his leadership abilities and commitment to supporting the wider insurance industry.

The award, which is open to any member of the Institute under the age of 35, provides an opportunity for individuals to highlight achievements that have made a real difference to their business. Candidates were judged on their attitude, performance and successes in their working life – and Chris stood out from the competition to take the top award.

Chris joined not-for-profit BHSF in December 2008 on the company’s graduate programme. Quickly climbing the career ladder, he was promoted to his present role in January 2015.

Over the last year, Chris has been instrumental in a number of product launches including BHSF Connect, a healthcare benefits app which provides easy access to a host of health and wellbeing services. Chris led the product development, created a compelling market proposition and worked closely with key stakeholders to bring the product to fruition.

Furthermore, Chris plays an active role in BHSF’s CSR agenda. He led a team of colleagues on the 26-mile St Basils Challenge on three occasions, Chris is also a Global Corporate Challenge Team Leader and has supported renovation projects for WellChild and Acorns.

BHSF Group Chief Executive, Peter Maskell said: “We are delighted Chris has won this award against strong competition. We invest heavily in young talent and encourage them strongly. Chris is BHSF’s fourth winner of this prestigious award since 2007.”

Chris, who has been active in the Young Professionals Team within the Institute for six years, said: “I was thrilled to hear I had been named Young Achiever of the Year. It’s wonderful to be recognised for my hard work over the last 12 months, as well as my ability to make a difference to BHSF and the insurance industry as a whole.”
