BAE System’s new online HR self-service and benefits platform is registering 10,000 hits a month, six months after it was rolled out to 28,000 staff.

Linzi Blakey, HR communications manager at the defence and aerospace systems manufacturer, said: “In 2000, we went to a an outsourced service model for HR, so this is basically trying to give people as much information at their fingertips as possible.”

Blakey said staff no longer relied as much on the HR department for information. She added: “It’s [also] got [employees’] own pay [details]. The big selling point for us is it’s got everything in one place.”
