Axa PPP Healthcare has enhanced its international health insurance plan with the introduction of a personal medical case management service.
The service, provided by Medix Medical Services, will enable employees who may require surgery or treatment of a number of serious medical conditions to secure expert guidance, supervision and support.
A dedicated medical case management team is assigned to support the employee, and can liaise with the member’s local care provider.
The Medix medical case manager will collate and review information and, as appropriate, contact a medical expert from Medix’s global panel to review the member’s case and help to prepare a personalised treatment plan based on best evidence-based clinical practice.
Additionally, Medix can recommend a care provider with the necessary experience and expertise to implement the treatment plan and, with the member’s consent, go on to instruct and supervise the selected care provider in taking this forward.
The Medix service is provided in existing international insurance plans as part of the policy benefits. Members must pre-authorise treatment plans recommended by Medix to confirm their eligibility for benefit before proceeding.
Andrew Coombs, managing director of Axa PPP Healthcare International, said: “Medix’ personal medical case management service will be a great comfort to members and their families by giving them the peace of mind of knowing that they will be guided and supported by the advice of independent medical experts to help ensure that their treatment plans are devised and implemented in accordance with best practice, wherever they may be in the world.”
