Nedbank Private Wealth has given each of its employees a pedometer to encourage them to reduce their carbon emissions by walking more as part of its sustainability forum’s latest campaign.
Staff had two months to venture out in their local surroundings and use their pedometer to its full potential. They then submitted photographs of themselves and the best photos with the best backdrops won prizes.
Greg Horton, managing director at Nedbank Private Wealth, said: “In these times of climate change, we recognise that reducing our carbon footprint and being more environmentally friendly is vital for our organisation and the world we live in.
“The bank is proud to be raising its game regarding greener initiatives and the education of our employees on these important global issues.”
The sustainability forum, which was set up at the beginning of 2012, aims to raise awareness of sustainability among staff. It introduces a new campaign each quarter to promote awareness of different issues, such as how staff can manage their own impact by focusing on environmental issues and promoting sustainable living.
