Financial education provider Wealth at Work has acquired Life Academy, a Wales-based provider of financial education and employee engagement programmes.

The acquisition aims to expand Wealth at Work’s presence in the market, particularly in light of the increased demand for pre- and at-retirement financial education triggered by the pension reforms.

Jonathan Watts-Lay (pictured), director at Wealth at Work, said: “Life Academy and Wealth at Work have many similarities from a financial education perspective in terms of what we do and how we do it, so as one organisation we can continue to build the services our clients’ demand.

“In the new environment, an increasing number of employers want to support financial education with individual guidance and regulated advice.”

“These additional services, which Wealth at Work already offers, can be made available to Life Academy clients that require it.

“In addition, Life Academy has developed highly innovative online tools, which we aim to offer to Wealth at Work clients.”

Greg Thorley, director at Life Academy, added: “Both companies provide financial education in the workplace but this partnership will allow us to deliver the full end-to end journey for employees, enabling them to take control of their finances, especially at-retirement, at a time when it has never been so important.”
