Warwickshire Police has switched eyecare benefits providers.
The new provision, supplied by Specsavers Corporate Eyecare, means all of Warwickshire police officers will be provided with full eye examinations and glasses if required.
Warwickshire Police will use optical care vouchers for around 950 police officers, and visual display unit (VDU) vouchers for around 880 police staff including police community support officers (PCSOs).
The police force will now directly purchase books of eyecare vouchers from Specsavers Corporate Eyecare, rather than its previous process of officers and staff using expense forms to claim back the cost of eye tests and glasses.
Natassia James, head of occupational health at Warwickshire Police, said: “Warwickshire Police has offered eyecare to its workforce for a number of years to ensure their welfare while at work. We looked at a more efficient way of doing this and after reviewing the provisions of a number of suppliers, Specsavers was chosen.”
