TNT has moved its voluntary benefits plan online and added more offers to the scheme.

The transportation and distribution firm introduced a new website in May, using provider Personal Group, to offer its 10,080 UK staff multiple channels for receiving discounts and offers.

Staff can now take up benefits by telephone, the internet, text messaging and using reloadable cards. The enhanced scheme has more than 5,000 discounts.

Previously, TNT staff accessed details of the perks through a paper-based benefits book. The book is still available, but now acts as a teaser to the main benefits provision, available through the portal. David Taylor, reward manager at TNT, said: “One of the key things staff have appreciated is that it is now internet-based, so far quicker and easier to access.”

The new scheme supports TNT’s aim to reduce its CO2 emissions by highlighting greener products or services, such as energy-saving products, eco-friendly gadgets and alternative energy providers.

Taylor said: “It is part of an overall engagement approach. We want staff to be engaged and productive, and this is an element of rewarding them for their contribution. It is still a tough time – inflation figures are higher than most pay deals going through, so it is nice that we can offer discounts and subsidies where
we can."
