Global marketing and sales organisation Televerde has been accredited as a living wage employer, committing to pay all employees a minimum of £8.45 an hour.
Around 170 staff members who will be employed at Televerde’s new European headquarters in Glasgow will receive the voluntary living wage rate of £8.45 an hour, regardless of whether they are permanent employees or third-party contractors.
The living wage is an hourly, independently set rate that is calculated according to the basic cost of living in the UK. Implemented on a voluntary basis by employers, the living wage is set at £9.75 an hour for staff working in London and £8.45 an hour for the rest of the UK.
Morgan Jones, general manager at Televerde Europe, said: “As [an organisation], we’re committed to exceeding our clients’ expectations in the fast changing marketing and sales environment while ensuring our employees have an opportunity for growth, both within Televerde and beyond. We are proud to carry this accreditation as we continue to build out our team in Glasgow.”
