Tectura has switched providers for its private medical insurance (PMI) scheme after a staff survey revealed employees would value wellbeing perks, such as discounted gym membership.
The IT firm, which pays for the benefit for all its 100 employees, switched to Pruhealth's Vitality scheme in January.
Under the scheme, staff can get discounted gym membership and earn points for activities such as buying fresh fruit and vegetables at Sainsbury's or walking a certain number of steps each day. Staff were given pedometers, and Lisa Clifton, Tectura's UK HR lead, said the scheme had caused a buzz. "People are running group challenges to see who can get the most points," she said.
The scheme was communicated using presentations given by representatives from PruHealth.
