Stagecoach Group employees have benefited from £1-million worth of new bikes as part of the organisation’s bikes-for-work scheme.

The bus and coach organisation has also improved the facilities at its bus depots for staff who cycle to work by introducing better bike racks, lockers and showers.

Employees can choose from 140 bikes worth up to £1,000, and make both tax and national insurance (NI) savings through the scheme. It also covers cycling equipment.

Les Warneford, managing director at Stagecoach UK Bus, said: “This is proving to be a very successful scheme and I’m delighted that so many of our employees have take advantage of the offer.”
