PR consultancy firm Umpf has become employee-owned through the establishment of an employee ownership trust.

Umpf is headquartered in Leeds, with a second office in London and a satellite office in south-west England.

It decided to put an employee ownership trust in place and enable all of its employees to own the agency as part of its aim to give them a genuine and meaningful stake in its business, success and reputation it has built.

It wanted to include them in decisions regarding where it is heading next, fostering collaboration, long-term thinking and shared success, while also aligning ambition, accountability and creativity.

Umpf believes that this will helps it to retain its talented staff, resulting in stronger bonds and a deeper commitment to the results it produces.

Adrian Johnson, managing director and founder of Umpf, said: “Since launching in 2009, we’ve grown into one of the North of England’s most decorated consultancies, collecting more than 80 industry accolades across regional, national and international programmes.

“Every day, we see that sharing our success is good for the team, for Umpf and for our clients. Our past success has always been built on the talent and dedication of our brilliant team. Our future success will be no different.”

Along with creating an employee ownership trust, Umpf has also been accredited as an endometriosis-friendly employer, reinforcing its commitment to creating a progressive, inclusive workplace.
