The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) has appointed Specsavers Corporate Eyecare to provide optical benefits to staff.
Its package includes eye examinations, spectacles for visual display unit (VDU) use if required, and prescription safety glasses.
SPS is using Specsavers Corporate Eyecare’s voucher system and online appointment booking system.
The provider will visit each SPS site to communicate the benefits of its service and promote health and wellbeing to employees.
Dona McLafferty, corporate account manager for Specsavers Corporate Eyecare, said: “For public sector organisations, transparency is particularly important.
We are able to supply SPS with data management reports on a quarterly basis. These highlight service usage and help organisations to see how many people are benefiting from the provision and in which ways.”
