Pitmans Trustees has announced plans to launch a new specialist unit that will focus exclusively on charity pension schemes.
Melanie Cusack, client director at Pitmans Trustees, will head up the unit.
Cusack said: “The charity sector has very specific needs which, all too often are not being met.
“We have gained valuable insight into their needs and requirements through the work we have already done with several charities including the Macmillan Cancer Support Pension Scheme. We understand what charities want and how to deliver it cost-effectively.
“This is critical given the highly complex challenges and competing objectives facing charities in particular as they must seek and find value every step of the way.”
Richard Butcher, managing director at Pitmans Trustees, said: “Our primary duty of care will continue to be to the members of the fund and securing their benefits at the least cost to the sponsor.
"Our pragmatic, unfussy approach is perfectly suited to charities trying to establish a smooth running, non-contentious scheme and a solid relationship with the sponsor.”
