KEY FINDINGS

77% offer a defined contribution plan as their main scheme, while 18% offer a defined benefit plan as their main scheme

13% have introduced auto-enrolment to boost take-up, while 66% would consider it

74% believe the Pensions Act 2008 is a step in the right direction to solve the pensions crisis and get people saving more for their retirement

66% say the charges for the national employment savings trust will put them off offering it

91% of respondents believe the government should be responsible for encouraging staff to save for retirement

62% measure the return on investment in their organisation’s pension scheme
