Domino’s Pizza rewards 11,500 employees with recognition bonus

Pizza restaurant and delivery chain Domino’s Pizza has rewarded over 11,500 employees with a special bonus to recognise them for their hard work during the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic.

All employees who are directly hired by the organisation, including hourly team members, drivers and supply staff will receive a special payment of up to $1,200 (£887). The investment paid to employees in December, will cost Domino's Pizza $9.6 (£8.6m) million.

This adds to the special bonus that Domino's Pizza paid its frontline staff working at corporate stores and supply chain centres earlier this year. The employer also provided paid time off to employees impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic.

Ritch Allison, chief executive at Domino's Pizza, said: "We strive every day to uphold our values of doing the right thing and putting people first. We have the honour and privilege of being open and operating throughout the US during this crisis, and we recognise that we could not be doing it without the hard work and dedication of our team members. This is our way of saying thank you to these remarkable people."
