Mercer has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Pensjon and Finans, a Norwegian-based investment and pensions consulting firm.
The closing of the transaction is subject to regulatory approval and other conditions. Terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
The acquisition will give Pensjon and Finans’ existing employers access to Mercer’s range of services.
Espen Klow, chief executive officer (CEO) at Pensjon and Finans, will take up the role as head of Mercer Investment Consulting in Norway after the acquisition is finalised.
Nicolai Berg, head of Mercer’s Nordic investments division, said: “Many organisations are requiring more specialist advice as well as global capabilities, and the combination of resources of Mercer and Pensjon and Finans will ensure that Norwegian employers will benefit from the acquisition.
Klow added: “Our commitment and insights will be supplemented by the global reach, professionalism and resources of Mercer. Both Mercer and Pensjon and Finans have similar values and share a commitment to excellence and to the Norwegian market.”
