Aon Hewitt appoints new head of public sector benefits consultancy

Consultancy Aon Hewitt has appointed Karen McWilliam the new head of its public sector benefits consultancy.

McWilliam will lead the team which provides advice and guidance on governance, administration and communications, including auto-enrolment and the taxation of pension benefits, and works closely with Aon Hewitt’s actuarial and investment consultants.

McWilliam has joined Aon Hewitt after 10 years with Hymans Robertson, where she established its public sector benefit consultancy team. She was also a partner and key member of its public sector team working with a number of local government pension scheme (LGPS) funds.

Tim Lunn, head of the UK public sector actuarial team at Aon Hewitt, said: “[McWilliam] has been a key figure in the LGPS arena for a number of years and brings considerable experience and knowledge to Aon Hewitt. I am certain [she] will make a real impact with our clients.”

McWilliam (pictured) added: “I am very pleased to be working as part of the team at Aon Hewitt, and, in particular, being able to utilise its global resources to help public sector pension schemes and their employers with the many challenges they face during this period of reform and change.”
