Aviva improves reward provision ahead of rebranding

Insurance group Aviva has launched a benefits website, online total reward statements (TRS) and a recognition scheme ahead of the firm’s rebranding in June.

The firm will also move to a flexible benefits scheme to coincide with the rebrand.

The website, My Aviva Reward, went live for its 27,000 employees last month, under the new Aviva brand. It has been designed as a one-stop shop for all pay and benefits information and is available to all staff of Norwich Union, which will become Aviva, as well as UK-based staff of Aviva Europe and Aviva Group. Helen Jackson, reward director at Norwich Union, said the use of consistent branding would help bring the corporate name change to life for employees.

The website was launched on the same day as the online TRS, which have been created for all staff. These contain details of employees’ remuneration, including pay and pensions, and will be updated regularly to reflect changes such as pay increases and share options.

Also available through My Aviva Reward is Spotlight, a recognition scheme that enables all employees to nominate colleagues they believe deserve praise. Nominations can be made through the website and staff who are singled out can choose from a range of gifts.

The TRS and recognition scheme are designed to drive staff onto the website ahead of Aviva’s flexible benefits launch, which is timed to coincide with Aviva’s official name change. It will help build excitement for staff. “It is all driven by the journey to the new brand,” said Jackson. “It is a two- or three-year journey, keeping [employees]’ interest and building on that success.”
