Canada Life extends group critical illness support services

Canada Life has extended its group critical illness services to make the Red Arc and Best Doctors support services available to all existing members with immediate effect.

The changes follow the relaunch of Canada Life’s group critical illness proposition in late 2010.

Red Arc provides help and support for members and their family if the member is diagnosed with a critical illness. A personal nurse adviser is provided for as long as is required to help the member and their immediate family cope with the effects of being diagnosed with a serious illness.

Best Doctors provides access to an expert second medical opinion to enable the member to make the most appropriate treatment choices.

Paul Avis, sales and marketing director at Canada Life, said: “The market will already be aware Canada Life prides itself on its value-laden approach to product development, employee engagement and feedback.

“The relaunch of our group critical illness product has been very positive, particularly with the addition of the RED ARC and Best Doctors services, a unique proposition in the market.

“We are now pleased to be able to offer these additional services to our existing group critical illness customers.

“In the event of being diagnosed with a critical illness, both services deliver medical and emotional support at the time when they are needed the most.

“Critical illness cover should be about more than just a cheque; whilst the money will, of course be useful, the help, support and guidance that Red Arc and Best Doctors can provide will be invaluable.”
