IPC Media is expanding the range of healthy lifestyle perks offered to staff by opening an on-site gym and introducing dental insurance.

Around 100 of IPC's 2,000 employees have already signed up for the dental insurance, provided by Cigna Healthcare, as a voluntary benefit. The option comes into effect this month.

IPC also opened its on-site gym last month giving staff access to exercise equipment, steam rooms and a dance studio. Membership costs employees £40 per month.

Belly dancing and body conditioning classes have also been added to an existing programme of sessions, hosted by IPC's on-site medical centre. Ashley Bestwick, reward manager at IPC Media, said: "We wanted to create more of a fun environment and provide classes that allowed people to learn something new while getting fit at the same time."

The magazine publisher also expanded its medical centre when the company moved from King's Reach Tower to Southwark Street last April. The centre is equipped with rest rooms, hydraulic beds, treatment couches and an ultrasound facility. Staff can make appointments with doctors and physiotherapists, who are on duty three days a week.
