InterGlobal has launched a 24/7 assistance division called InterGlobal Assistance to deliver assistance and claims management worldwide.
The new division, launched in collaboration with First Assistance, will operate from the UK and New Zealand to provide access to help, guidance and emergency medical assistance under InterGlobal’s international private medical insurance (PMI) policy.
The service covers all aspects of the assistance process, including advice from medical experts, arranging admittance to hospital, identifying specialists, arranging ambulances, and medical evacuation by air ambulance or scheduled air service.
InterGlobal Assistance became operational in September 2010, and has been launched following a period of training, system development and live operation.
Stephen Hartigan, chief executive of InterGlobal, said: “The acid test of an international private medical insurance plan is how it responds in an emergency.
“We wanted to be sure that our members would receive the same standards of commitment, responsiveness and personalised service when they need immediate medical assistance.”
