The All Party Parliamentary Cycling Group (APPCG) will start taking verbal evidence for the Get Britain Cycling inquiry on 23 January.
The inquiry aims to look at the barriers that are preventing more people cycling in the UK, where only 2% of journeys are made up of cycling compared to 27% in the Netherlands.
It will also examine measures that can be taken by central and local government, as well as organisations, to overcome these obstacles.
One of the topics the APPCG would like to investigate is training more people to cycle to work and to school.
Six evidence sessions with a panel of MPs and peers will take place, with the final one being held on 6 March.
A report with recommendations is due to be published in April.
