Huddersfield station promotes Felix the cat

Something for the weekend…

A cat named Felix has been promoted to senior pest controller at Huddersfield station after five years of pest control service.

Felix first joined the railway station in 2011 when she was just nine weeks old.

In recognition of her senior post, Felix now has her own high-visibility jacket and TransPennine Express name badge.

The feline employee also occassionally helps out in the ticket office and has a dedicated cat flap alongside the station’s ticket barriers.

Felix is a firm favourite with many passengers who use Huddersfield station. The ‘Felix the Huddersfield Station Cat’ fan page, which is dedicated to her outstanding work and good nature, currently has around 4,600 ‘likes’.

According to her Facebook page, Felix likes to take a well-earned rest break from her duties to enjoy ‘a bit of tummy tickling and some treats’.

At the Employee Benefits offices, we are wondering how else Felix is rewarded for her efforts and whether she has a comprehensive benefits and remuneration package worthy of her work…
