Goddard Perry Consulting (GPC) has launched a financial education service called the Retirement Counsellor.
Designed to assist employers and trustees with pension scheme communications, it will enable staff to consider which option at retirement is best for them.
The service includes a bespoke pre-retirement report outlining all the choices, access to online decision trees, best annuity rate searches, and clear information on the alternative retirement solutions that are available to them.
A telephone helpline is also available should employees wish to speak to someone or need independent financial advice.
Alan Malyon, head of retirement services at GPC, said: “Pension scheme members have to make some important decisions when they reach retirement and, without support, these choices can seem overwhelming.
“We feel that it is vital to respond to The Pension Regulator’s concerns regarding open market options and good outcomes for retirees.
“However, despite the obvious need for provision in this area, we have found that employee’s find this advice difficult to obtain, which is why we have introduced Retirement Counsellor.”
