EXCLUSIVE: Digital wellness provider Hero has acquired UK-based employee health, fitness and wellbeing organisation UKWellbeing Coach.
UKWellbeing Coach, founded in 2012, provides a range of health and wellbeing services to UK businesses, such as health checks, health and wellbeing seminars and training programmes, bootcamps and screenings.
The acquisition has been designed to help enhance and strengthen Hero’s position within the corporate health and wellbeing market, utilising UKWellbeing Coach’s complementary services to align with Hero’s overarching vision: to take a proactive approach to physical, mental and social health, and to simplify the complexity of living a healthy lifestyle.
Andy Romero-Birkbeck, former managing director at UKWellbeing Coach, will assume the role of education and delivery director.
Joe Gaunt (pictured), founder and chief executive officer at Hero, said: “Education is the key to achieving significant and long-term change and this acquisition will help us achieve this. We are pleased to welcome Andy and the team into the group.
“We will [be] working with the team and our clients to deliver increased education and training on a range of subjects from mental resilience, behavioural change, nutrition, stress management, sleep, plus much more, to ensure corporate health and wellbeing is central to employee success.”
Romero-Birkbeck added: “I am thrilled to be part of the Hero group and excited to be playing an active role in creating what is set to be an awesome legacy. We will remain focused on doing what we do best, which is delivering support, training and mentoring for managers and senior leaders working in large and small organisations.”
