East Cheshire NHS Trust has outsourced its HR shared service centre.
The trust has awarded a four-year, single-supplier contract to Arvato UK and Ireland, under which Arvato will acquire and operate the trust’s Cheshire HR Service.
It will provide payroll administration, learning and development and HR consulting.
The deal will enable Arvato to offer its services to other local authorities, and other health and social care bodies throughout the UK.
All 57 employees at Cheshire HR Service will transfer to Arvato on their current terms. The centre will continue to be led by Cheshire HR Service managing director Sally Campbell.
John Wilbraham, chief executive at East Cheshire NHS Trust, said: “The time is right to hand the HR service over to a strategic commercial partner to take the service forward, leverage its success and ensure it reaches its full potential.
Matthias Mierisch, chief executive officer at Arvato UK and Ireland, added: “As the NHS continues to undergo unprecedented changes, shared services have a clear role to play in transforming back-office functions and helping the NHS to deliver targeted efficiency savings.”
