Only 15% of employees aged 16-24 are enrolled in an employer-sponsored pension scheme, according to figures published by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

The DWP Family resource survey report shows the percentage of adults with pension provision by age group, demonstrating how these various age groups would be affected by the 2012 pension reforms.

The figures rise considerably across age groups, with 44% of those aged 25-34 participating in an employer-sponsored pension scheme, 54% of those aged 35-44, and 58% of those aged 45-54.

However, the figure drops off again in the 55-64 age group, with only 50% of employees saving into an employer-sponsored pension scheme.
