JLT Head Office

EXCLUSIVE: Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) has seen 18% of eligible employees register interest in its car salary sacrifice scheme in the three months since it was launched.

The insurance, reinsurance and employee benefits consultancy firm introduced the scheme, which is provided by Fleet Hire’s Car Salary Exchange, at the end of 2015.

So far, a 1% take-up rate has been achieved among JLT's 4,100 eligible UK employees. Some 50 new car orders have been placed and approximately 28,000 quotations have been generated.

Employees at JLT, which has a 10,777-strong workforce internationally, can access around 4,000 new cars through the scheme.

Staff can generate quotes through an online platform accessible via desktop, tablet and mobile devices.

To communicate the scheme to employees, Car Salary Exchange ran pre-launch benefit seminars across JLT’s London headquarters and regional offices. More than 250 employees attended the launch at JLT’s head office.

Caroline Jordan, benefits manager at JLT, said: “We are delighted with the initial interest received for the scheme, which offers a wide choice of low CO2-emitting cars up to a carbon cap of 130g/km. To date, the average CO2 of vehicles ordered has been 102g/km.”
