Chelmsford Borough Council has introduced a new health plan that gives its 825 employees the opportunity to top up their cover and add partners.

The health plan, provided as a collaboration between BHSF and Aon, offers employees diagnostic consultation, therapies, dental and optical benefits, and access to health assessments.

Florence Agyei, HR services manager at Chelmsford Borough Council, said: “These are tough times in the public sector. We impressed upon our advisors the need to keep costs down, while providing a range of benefits that would themselves aid in reducing the costs of absence and staff turnover.”

Lisa Mulhern, senior consultant at Aon, added: “We are delighted to be helping Chelmsford Borough Council’s employees look after both their current health and their future wellbeing, through a plan that offers both treatment and preventative options.

“In placing the business with BHSF, we know that the client will receive excellent value as well as first class customer service. We work with BHSF on behalf of a number of large employers and have a high regard for their quality and flexibility; as a result we are confident that the scheme will deliver to the objectives set by the client.”
