Healthcare provider Bupa is extending early access to pay to support the financial wellbeing of 5,500 dental care staff. The organisation initially rolled out the service provided by income streaming platform Wagestream to 11,000 employees across its care division in February 2020.
The service allows Bupa employees to access to their pay, as and when they earn it. Employees can withdraw as little or as much of their salary as they need to without having to wait until pay day. For each withdrawal, employees will be charged a flat fee of £1.75.
Bupa is also offering employees access to Wagestream's micro-savings tool, Safestream, which is available to all of its 6,500 dental care staff, enabling them to save a portion of their salary each month. Additionally, employees will also be able to access financial wellbeing advice through its The Money Advice Service, which offers webinars and an online resource hub.
Jo Foster, people director at Bupa Dental Care, said: “Giving our dental teams access to their pay when they need it is a great way for us to give something back to valued employees who go above and beyond every day."The app will be particularly useful for any flexible employees and to track overtime and allow [employees] to access their pay as soon as they have earned it. Wagestream has proved immensely popular with staff in the Bupa care services division, so it made sense to roll it out to our dental services arm.”
