Autumn Statement 2013: The basic state pension will increase by £2.95 per week from April 2014, as announced by Chancellor George Osborne (pictured) in the Autumn Statement 2013.

The increase is in line with the triple lock, which means that the full basic state pension in 2014/15 will be around £8.50 a week higher than if it had been up-rated only in line with average earnings growth since 2011/12.

The government previously announced that the basic state pension would increase from £110.15 a week in the 2012 Autumn Statement.
