Food service distributor 3663 has launched an employee lottery scheme to raise money for its nominated charity Hospitality Action.
Employees have the chance to take part in the monthly Big Prize Draw by contributing as little as £1 a week in a bid to win 50% of all contributions tax-free, with the rest going directly to the charity.
So far, winners have taken home at least £500 and the prize fund is set to grow beyond £700.
The scheme was launched in December 2010 and, if successful, could be rolled out across other businesses in the hospitality sector.
3663 has supported Hospitality Action as its nominated charity since 2002, and over the past nine years has helped to raise more than £800,000 to improve the lives of people within the hospitality and catering industry.
Monique Hubbard, HR manager at 3663, said: “The Big Prize Draw is a fantastic self-funded scheme that the entire business can get behind to support Hospitality Action, and even take home a little extra too.
“So far, we have had a great cross section of winners throughout the company including telesales and drivers.
“What’s more, the initiative has really helped to raise the profile of Hospitality Action throughout the company; it is encouraging employees to get involved in their own fundraising schemes to help this important charity.
“We have recently confirmed that the cash prizes will not be taxed, so winners can take home even more. The more employees that take part the bigger the prize, so we want everyone to get involved.
“If just over 10% of our employees sign up, a lucky member of staff could win £1,000.”
