Rob Cross (pictured), senior reward manager, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) of web hosting firm Equinix, will discuss global reward at Employee Benefits Live 2015 on 21 September.
The session, entitled ‘How to develop a global reward strategy while retaining local flexibility,’ will focus on how employers can ensure that local legislative and cultural issues are taken into account.
It will also examine how organisations can make sure that communication is consistently appropriate for each location.
Cross explained: “On a local basis employee reward requirements may be very different; you can’t always gauge these through a global solution.”
He also emphasised that localised reward strategies can make reward more cost-effective than a globalised solution, particularly in light of varying time zones.
During the session, Cross also plans to discuss why successful global reward strategies involve “identifying what the strategy means for the organisation globally and integrating the organisation’s values into it.” He will outline the importance of identifying: “what behaviours you want from your staff and how you can go about achieving those behaviours.”
At Employee Benefits Live, Equinix’s Cross will speak alongside Dentsu Aegis Network’s head of reward, Richard Beeby.
Employee Benefits Live 2015 will take place at Olympia National, London, on 21-22 September.
