Healthcare provider Simplyhealth has partnered with charity Samaritans for a fundraising day, Feel Good Friday, that is open to all employers.
The inaugural event will take place on 3 February 2012 with activities such as wearing slippers into work, hosting a comedy night, and taking part in feel-good challenges.
A dedicated website for Feel Good Friday will launch in November where employers can find out more about the day and register for their fundraising pack.
Catherine Johnstone, chief executive of Samaritans, said: “It is great that we are able to team-up with a like-minded organisation that is focused on helping people.
“We hope to partner with Simplyhealth for many years and to see Feel Good Friday become an established national fundraising day.”
Mark Day, customer services director at Simplyhealth, added: “Feel Good Friday is a fantastic idea and we are delighted to support Samaritans.
“All too often we are so focused on keeping up with the pace of modern life that we forget to take some time to relax and enjoy ourselves. We hope that Feel Good Friday shows people the value of taking time out, while at the same time helping to raise money for a great cause.”
