Quintiles has outsourced its voluntary benefits scheme to enhance the offering to its 2,000 UK employees.
The bio and pharmaceutical services firm replaced its in-house discount scheme with one supplied by Edenred that offers staff a broader choice of benefits.
Quintiles conducted a survey of employees' views of its benefits, and found that its previous discount scheme was not highly valued by workers.
Debra Corey, senior director, compensation and benefits, Europe, Middle East and Africa, said this validated the company's decision to move away from its in-house scheme. "Our goal is that, ultimately, the next time we do this survey, it will show that employees really value the scheme, that they appreciate it, are satisfied with it, and that it has really turned into a positive return on investment for the company," she explained.
Quintiles appointed Edenred to provide its new QChoices scheme, which includes discounts at H Samuel, House of Fraser, Argos,` and Marks and Spencer and was launched at the end of July.
Quintiles communicated the scheme using postcards sent to employees' home addresses, emails, a poster campaign, staff briefings and a competition to attract people to the voluntary benefits scheme's website.
