Snowdrop, the HR and payroll software provider, has launched an HR consultancy arm in response to a demand for generalist HR services from its pool of existing clients. The new business currently employs two HR consultants in-house, and has access to approximately another 10 externally. However, it is planning to increase its in-house team. Kirsteen MacBrayne, Snowdrop's HR consultant who heads up the practice, said: "Clients have been coming to us during implementation asking us to provide them with HR business analysis.
Snowdrop traditionally used only external consultants so we have reacted by setting up in-house." Snowdrop offers four HR packages: a best practice evaluation; a basic legal essentials service; an outsourced HR manager function; and specialist extra services. MacBrayne added that these were anticipated to appeal primarily to the small- and medium-sized market where organisations may not have a great deal of HR knowledge in-house. However, the services were also intended for use by larger organisations where consultants could work alongside HR managers. Specialist services including audit management, staff surveys and sickness absence management can be added to any of the four packages or purchased singly.
