Pets at Home has launched a master trust to comply with auto-enrolment.

The pet care retailer, which has 6,000 employees across more than 350 UK stores, began to plan for the legislation in 2011.

It invited a number of providers to tender for the scheme, from which it appointed Legal and General.

Ryan Cheyne, people director at Pets at Home, said: “We were pleased with its ability to produce employee communications in line with the Pets at Home brand, which really helped with engagement from day one.

“The auto-enrolment scheme went live in July and, although it’s too early to be sure, we expect a positive response from employees and are certainly optimistic that opt-out rates will be in single figures.”
