A quarter of respondents are working whilst ill due to financial concerns, according to a survey by National Accident Helpline. The research also found that 13% have been threatened with disciplinary measures as a result of taking sick leave.
The investigation was conducted on 1,000 UK residents and revealed that 19% of respondents cited pressure by their boss as the reason they do not take time off when ill, whereas 13% stated it was due to pressure from their colleagues.
