Grove Pensions Solutions appoints Steve Delo to chair governance committee

Grove Pensions Solutions (GPS), the specialist defined benefit (DB) pension consultancy, has appointed Steve Delo, chief executive of Pan Governance, as chair of the Grove governance and risk management committee.

The committee has been established to provide governance oversight over key service providers on behalf of Grove’s clients.

Ken Tymms, corporate pensions manager at GPS, said: “The Grove governance and risk management committee is the power house of our offering and what we are looking to achieve. Our goal is to transform small scheme governance standards; our structure is such that our governance committee will oversee all of our client appointments to ensure best service and best practice.

“Clearly we are extremely pleased Steve has agreed to be our chair and we are looking forward to working with him and the Pan Governance team. Steve is well known and respected in the market and, furthermore, has always been an advocate of educating the market on requirements concerning good governance, this is a good match to our ethos.”

Delo added: “Grove Pensions Solutions has come up with an extremely interesting and logical solution for the governance needs and requirements of smaller DB schemes. Unfortunately, smaller schemes are all too often overlooked and this is something GPS are looking to address.

“By having a governance committee that sits between the advisers and providers and the pension manager means we can ensure, as far as possible, best practice is always achieved and the scheme benefits from the same knowledge and expertise as large schemes. I am looking forward to working with them.”
