Editor’s comment:
This lunchtime summer party was hosted by comedian Rob Beckett, who handed out 23 awards. This was followed by an afternoon of networking, relaxing and making the most of the funfair.
At our judging this year, we detected a slight change of gear in a number of category entries. We saw several truly innovative ideas come through, with several entries demonstrating creativity and bravery by doing something no one else had done before.
On the other hand, there were a number of winning entries where employers did not introduce anything new, but rather put all their efforts into engaging staff in what was already on offer.
Here we saw numerous clever, cutting-edge communication ideas.
For all their hard work and integrity in the process, I would like to thank our 30 highly esteemed judges. After days of reading through a vast number of entries, we gathered six different judging panels into various rooms over two days to delve into the what, why, how and wherefore of each entry.
Being a finalist is a huge achievement. The quality of the vast majority of entries was extremely high and in some heavily-entered categories we had to reject some excellent entries in order to whittle our way down to a manageable shortlist.
You will be able to spot the occasions when we had long discussions; that is where we have also awarded a Highly Commended award to acknowledge a close-run race to the top spot.
Congratulations to all our winners and highly commendeds.
