East Midland Trains is launching a voluntary benefits scheme as part of its third birthday celebrations.
The scheme, provided by LogBuy, will enable the firm's 2,025 staff to buy goods and services at discounts, as well as nominating local businesses where they would like to receive discounts, such as restaurants and hairdressers.
Senior managers have been told about the forthcoming launch, but the scheme will be kept secret from staff until the company's third birthday on 11 November, when they will receive a welcome pack and a letter from the HR director.
The launch of the discount scheme will form part of East Midland Trains' wellbeing and benefits strategy. Formed three years ago as an amalgamation of three companies, the organisation found some groups of employees received different benefits from others, and so wanted a universal offering for all staff.
Barbara Davenport, head of employee wellbeing at East Midland Trains, said: "The scheme is something potentially everybody can use and benefit from, but will not cost us a lot of money to implement."
