EXCLUSIVE: Clyde and Co has increased take up of its workplace giving scheme after launching a campaign to encourage more employees to give money to charity through payroll.
The law firm launched a campaign at the start of January 2015 after identifying that its take up was not as high as it would have liked among its employees.
As a result of re-launching the scheme, it has now more than doubled its take up.
The organisation was first approached by provider Workplace Giving UK in November 2014 about promoting the scheme and its HR and benefits team were given advice on running a New Year promotion.
As part of the campaign, the firm pledged to double match the first donation made by any employee who signed up for the scheme during the month of January.
To promote its Resolution Revolution campaign it produced desk drop leaflets to be distributed with employees’ pay slips.
An email was also sent to staff and an announcement was made on its intranet. It also used posters and Workplace Giving staff visited its London and Manchester offices.
Louise Zekaria, community investor at Clyde and Co, said: “Give as you earn is the most tax-efficient way an individual can make a donation to a UK charity.
“So far, during our campaign this January, we have doubled the number of employees that have signed up to the give-as-you-earn scheme, which is a great result. We aim to achieve 10% participation in the longer term.”
