The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is launching paper total reward statements (TRS) and a voluntary benefits scheme this summer as the first step towards rolling out flexible benefits in the longer term.
The CAA plans to send out the statements after its annual pension statements have been distributed in an effort to inform its 1,100 staff about their total remuneration.
Alan Croxford, head of reward, said: "We see total reward statements as being a progressive step towards flexible benefits in the longer term. This is one of the stepping stones to get us there."
The voluntary benefits scheme is to be launched about the same time as the TRS and will provide staff with discounts on a wide range of goods and services. Currently, the CAA provides staff with discounted private medical insurance and dental treatment, but the new scheme will provide staff with discounts in retail stores and on gym membership.
Croxford added: "We are trying to extend our range of benefits in the most cost-effective way."
