B&Q has moved its benefits package online this month to help communicate perks to staff more effectively and boost take-up rates.
To avoid alienating store-based employees the website will be accessible via the internet, allowing staff to log on at home.
Information on its existing benefits, including flexible working practices, career breaks, and maternity and paternity leave will be included on the website called Myrealdeal.co.uk, which B&Q has created.
Amy Davis, HR team leader, explained: “We were looking for something for staff, because they weren’t taking on the benefits. We needed a more effective way to channel the information [we provide] around benefits.”
Although no new benefits will be launched along with the new website, the home and garden retail store is looking at introducing an employee assistance programme (EAP) and childcare voucher scheme early next year.
