Health insurance provider WPA has launched an NHS supplementary insurance plan that employers can offer staff to help pay for extras.
Its NHS Top-up plan offers premiums starting at 92p per employee per week and cash back levels up to 100%.
The benefits include: optical and dental, NHS car parking, top-up cancer drugs, special consultations and second opinions, top-up European EHIC cover including air ambulance repatriation, 24/7 medical helpline, GP services, therapies such as physiotherapy and chiropractic treatment, and top-up extras such as cosmetic surgery, health screening and allergy testing.
Adrian Humphreys, managing director of WPA’s corporate customers, said: “For companies which want to value and reward their staff but where the bottom-line pay rises, budgets and allowances are continuously squeezed, NHS Top-up is one of the few benefits that has a perceived benefit well in excess of actual cost.
”With the current spending squeeze and economic challenges employees are worried about how much the NHS can do, yet nearly 90% of the UK do not have any form of medical insurance and rely totally on the NHS.
“WPA believes many more people wish to have greater control over their healthcare working together with the NHS making their care even more effective.”
