West Lothian Council has consolidated its voluntary benefits under a single provider.

The authority, which previously offered benefits via a number of salary sacrifice providers for its 8,000 staff, has now consolidated these into a single integrated scheme managed by Asperity.

Neil McLeod, employee benefits manager at the council, said: "Keeping it all under one roof helps our employees to get their heads round the voluntary benefits scheme as a whole. We think that this will boost take-up significantly."

Staff can now access perks, such as shopping discounts at retailers including Marks & Spencer and Comet, bicycle loans and childcare vouchers, through a branded website.
