Wesleyan is to launch an online flexible benefits scheme, after the results of a benefits survey indicated its 850 employees wanted greater choice from their packages.

The scheme, which is due to open for employees to make their first selections next month, will include the financial services company's existing benefits, such as childcare vouchers, alongside new perks. The new options were selected to suit the workforce's demographics and include a healthcare cash plan, dental insurance and a mobile phone scheme.

The packages that staff choose will then come into effect from 1 April.

Rachel Sutton, the firm's HR manager, explained: "We want to give employees a wider range of benefits, and flex gives more options for staff to choose benefits that suit their own needs."

She said that the Flexphone mobile phone scheme was expected to be popular with the company's workforce.

"From call centre staff to senior management there is something in [the new scheme] for everyone. I think the mobile phones will appeal to our younger employees," added Sutton.
