The Welsh Assembly Government has re-tendered its corporate eyecare benefits for its 6,500 employees.
As a result, the government body selected Specsavers Corporate Eyecare to provide full eye examinations and visual display unit (VDU) glasses, if required, to all staff.
The Welsh Assembly Government has held several health fair days for staff, at which the importance of eyecare has been promoted to employees. For example, Specsavers' representatives carried out basic tests with the aid of a vision screener to determine of staff required an eye examination.
Andy Drake, corporate account manager at Specsavers Corporate Eyecare, said: "We have been servicing this contract for the last three years, but we were up against some tough competition when re-tendering, so winning the contract is excellent."
