EXCLUSIVE: Vinci UK has increased the employee spend on its voluntary benefits plan by 100% through a series of new communications programmes.
Transactions via the construction firm’s employee discounts site has increased to £20,000 per month, up from £10,000 at the beginning of 2012.
Gemma Concannon, benefits manager at Vinci UK, said: “The most popular things are retail vouchers, particularly Asda and Sainsbury’s reloadable cards.”
The ongoing communications, which launched in February and March with benefits fairs, also include a monthly flyer highlighting a specific benefit, such as childcare vouchers or retail discounts. The firm also promoted the scheme to its 4,000 UK staff through its team briefings, known as Monday Morning Memos.
“We have been looking at our voluntary benefits and reviewing the benefits to ensure they are valuable to our employees at this time, and helping them out with everyday costs,” added Concannon. “With everything going on in the economy at the moment, it just seems like the most sensible thing to do.”
